News New Team StarKid Musical Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier Will Open in Chicago YouTube sensation Team StarKid will present Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier, an original musical comedy parody from the creative team behind A Very Potter Musical, beginning July 4 at The Greenhouse Theater in Chicago.

Brian Holden will direct the musical, featuring a score by A.J. Holmes and Kaley McMahon and a book by Matt Lang, Nick Lang and Eric Kahn Gale. James Tolbert will choreograph, and music direction is by Justin Fischer with orchestrations by Andrew Fox.

The cast of StarKid veterans includes Dylan Saunders, Jeff Blim, Joe Walker, Jim Povolo, Lauren Lopez, Meredith Stepien, Denise Donovan, Nick Gage and Jaime Lyn Beatty as well as three new additions to the StarKid acting company — Rachael Soglin, Alex Grace Paul and Robert Manion.

In Twisted, according to press notes, "Team StarKid turns its satirical eye on the classic story of Aladdin, doing for its much maligned Royal Vizier what Wicked did for the Witch of the West."

Performances will be offered July 4–7, July 11–14, July 18–21 and July 25–28 at 7:30 PM.

Formed at the University of Michigan in 2009, StarKid represents an ensemble of writers, directors, actors and designers. Now based in Chicago, StarKid has garnered over 150 million views and 329,000 subscribers on YouTube; 200,000 Facebook fans; and over 132,000 Twitter followers worldwide. The team has had its albums chart on iTunes and Billboard. Their musicals include A Very Potter Musical, Me and My Dick, A Very Potter Sequel, Starship, Holy Musical B@man and Second City's Airport For Birds.
