The concert at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia includes performances by Richard Todd Adams (The Phantom of the Opera), Victoria Clark (Titanic), Jill Geddes (Les Misérables), Daniel Reichard (The Thing About Men) and Michael Winther (Mamma Mia!).  The evening will be hosted by Danny Burstein.

Ranging in style from "the brilliantly theatrical" to "the hauntingly poetic," their lyrics feature the music of Stephen Hoffman, Steve Marzullo, Sam Davis, Dick Gallagher, Jenny Giering, Patrick Brady and Mary Rodgers.  The singers will be accompanied by Ed Matthew on clarinet and Grant Wenaus on piano.

Mark Campbell has written lyrics and libretti for traditional and non-traditional musical theatre, as well as opera, dance and performance art. Most recently, he wrote the libretto for Volpone, a full-length comic opera with music by John Musto, which premiered at Wolf Trap a month ago and was hailed as a masterpiece by The Washington Post.

Other works include The Paradise Project (The Kitchen, music Michael Torke); Splendora (Bay Street Theatre Festival and American Place Theatre); Akin (presented by Music-Theatre Group at LaMama, music by Richard Peaslee); Light Shall Lift Them (produced by BAM's Next Wave Festival); Nothing Forever (New York Theatre Workshop); The Sweet Revenge of Louisa May (Olney Theatre); Ring Around the Rosie for the Parsons Dance Company (music by Richard Peaslee, produced by Music-Theatre Group at the Joyce Theatre); Awakening (P.S. 122); and Broken Morning (HERE).  Campbell's awards include the first Kleban Foundation Award for Lyricist, two Richard Rodgers Awards, a Rockefeller Foundation Award, a New York Foundation for the Arts Playwriting Fellowship, a Drama Desk Award nomination and most recently, a 2004 Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award.

Mark Waldrop, a director and lyricist, served as production supervisor and contributed special material for Bette Midler's 1999 Divine Miss Millennium Tour. On Broadway, he directed and wrote material for Bea Arthur: Just Between Friends, which was nominated for the 2002 Tony Award for Unique Theatrical Event. Off-Broadway and in Los Angeles he directed and penned book and lyrics to Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly (1997 Drama Desk Award, 1997 Outer Critic's Circle Award, Obie).

The New Voices Collective, founded by Jen Bender, Joel Fram, and Doug Okerson in 2002, "provides a forum for a community of artists to develop new works and explore new directions.  Their various programs includes the New Voices concerts, First-Draft Musicals reading, and the Rush Hour Chamber Music series."
