News New York City Ballet Gala to Feature Kristen Bell and Selections from Carousel New York City Ballet's May 8 gala at the Koch Theater will feature performances by "Frozen" star Kristen Bell, who will offer selections from the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Carousel, according to the New York Times.

In addition to a world premiere ballet by Justin Peck that features a score by singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens, the gala will showcase works that were staged during the first performance at the State Theater (now the David H. Koch Theater) on April 23, 1964, including George Balanchine’s "Allegro Brillante" and Stravinsky’s "Fanfare for a New Theater." In addition, the gala will pay tribute to Music Theater of Lincoln Center, a former tenant of the Koch Theater, with selections from Carousel performed by Bell, who voiced the role of Anna in the hit Disney animated film "Frozen."

A tribute to City Ballet dancers who were part of the April 23, 1964 performance will include Jacques d’Amboise, Suki Schorer, Kay Mazzo, Karin von Aroldingen and Sara Leland.
