Dance News New York City Ballet’s Tiler Peck and More at NYC Dance Alliance Foundation Benefit The January 21 performance, titled DESTINY RISING, benefited the Foundation’s College Scholarship Program.

The NYC Dance Alliance Foundation presented DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance at The Joyce on January 21. The performance benefited the Foundation’s College Scholarship Program, which presented ten student dancers with $120,000 in scholarships.

The evening showcased the work of some of New York City’s and the country’s most renowned dancers and dance companies, including Tiler Peck (New York City Ballet and the Broadway production of On the Town), Roman Meija (New York City Ballet), vocalist Michael Cain, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, MADBOOTS, Marymount Manhattan Dance Company, and the Columbia Performing Arts Center. The evening also featured a new piece commissioned by the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation, featuring the winners of the 2018 scholarship.

To date, the Foundation has awarded over $2.5 million in scholarships to 250 dancers all over the country. NYCDAF is dedicated to investing in the next generation of professional performers by offering scholarships for secondary and college education.
