Classic Arts News New York City Opera Announces Free Outdoor Concerts New York City Opera will present free midday concerts in Manhattan's Bryant Park on August 12, 19, and 26, the company announced.
In the concerts, called Afternoon Arias, young artists from the company will perform excerpts from operas featured in NYCO's upcoming season.

On August 12, Michael Corvino and Misoon Ghim will perform music from Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Jee Hyun Lim, Anthony Pulgram, Corvino, and Ghim will perform selections from Puccini's Madama Butterfly. Steven Mosteller will provide piano accompaniment.

A week later, the concert will include selections from Mozart's Don Giovanni, with Corvino and Georgia Jarman, and Puccini's La bohme, with Corvino, Jarman, Inna Dukach, and Eric Fennell.

Finally, on August 26, Corvino and Jarman will be featured in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Shu-Ying Li and Anthony Pulgram in Madama Butterfly, and Fennell, Corvino, Jarman, and Li in La bohme.

Gerald Steichen is the piano accompanist on August 19 and 26.
