FringeNYC offers 192 titles, representing over 200 theatre companies from across the world. The 16-day festival will run through Aug. 28 in venues all over Lower Manhattan. The festival offers a variety of performances (on a widely scattered schedule) in theatre, dance, performance art, spoken word, puppetry, improv and multimedia.

The 2011 festival also boasts the return of Tony Award-winning musical writers Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann, whose musical Urinetown premiered at the 1999 Fringe Festival prior to transferring to Off-Broadway and then Broadway in 2001,when it won Tony Awards. This year the writers are represented with Yeast Nation (the triumph of life), which has already sold out its entire run.

Additional titles included this year are Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera; I Light Up My Life: the Mark Sam Celebrity Autobiography; Bette Davis Ain't For Sissies; Epic Win Burlesque's The Star Debate: Trek vs. Wars; facebook me; Romeo & Juliet: Choose Your Own Ending; Chasing Heaven; The Chalks: An American Family in 3 Chords; Winner Take All (A Rock Opera); and Zombie Wedding.

Works that got their start at FringeNYC include Matt & Ben, Dog Sees God, Debbie Does Dallas, The Irish Curse and Silence! The Musical.
