Classic Arts News New York Philharmonic's Midsummer Night's Dream to Star Campbell Scott and Marcia Gay Harden The New York Philharmonic has announced the cast for its semi-staged production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream featuring Mendelssohn's complete incidental music, which opens tomorow.
The cast will include Campbell Scott as Oberon and Theseus; Marcia Gay Harden as Hermia, Quince, and Cobweb; Hope Davis as Helena, Snout, and Moth; Linda Emond as Hippolyta and Titania; Reg Rogers as Egeus, Philostrate, Puck, Starveling, and Mustardseed; Lorenzo Pisoni as Demetrius, Flute, and Peaseblossom; and Jeremy Shamos as Lysander and Bottom.

The musical personnel, which had previously been announced, includes conductor Neville Marriner, soprano Susan Gritton, mezzo-soprano Patricia Risley, and the New York Choral Artists.

The production will return on March 18, 19, and 22.
