News New York Pops Season to Feature Montego Glover, Capathia Jenkins, Stephanie J. Block and Brian D'Arcy James A group of Tony Award nominees will join the New York Pops in their 2015-16 season, performing classic showtunes as well as works performed by musical icons Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

The season will open Oct. 9 at Carnegie Hall with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein, featuring Essential Voices USA along with guest artists. Sophisticated Ladies will follow on Nov. 13, featuring Tony Award nominee Montego Glover (Memphis, The Color Purple), Capathia Jenkins (Newsies, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me) and Sy Smith.

Tony Award nominees Stephanie J. Block (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 9 to 5) and Brian d'Arcy James (Shrek the Musical, Time Stands Still) will be featured at It's Christmas Time in the City Dec. 18-19. The music of Broadway will be featured in 42nd on 57th: Broadway Today March 11, 2016. The season will conclude with Lights, Camera, Action: Spielberg and Williams April 8.

"We are thrilled to announce the lineup for The New York Pops 2015-16 season," music director Steven Reineke said in a statement. "Our terrific orchestra is looking forward to playing host to some incredible artists. I am excited to be able to offer such a wonderful variety of concerts for our 33rd season, and I'm eagerly anticipating another memorable year."
