NEWSical The Musical is headed back Off-Broadway. After closing its historic decade-long run in 2019, the musical comedy sketch show lampooning current events will play the AMT Theatre Sundays and Mondays beginning March 19.

The revival will benefit the Entertainment Community Fund, with 50% of net proceeds going to the non-profit and its efforts to support professionals across the entertainment industry.

Performing in the new Off-Broadway run will be returning NEWSical company members Kristen Alderson, Taylor Crousore, Carly Sakalove, and Michael West. Each week will feature a special guest star, beginning with NEWSical alums Sushie Mosher March 19 and 20 and Christine Pedi March 26 and 27.

The ever-changing show, created and written by Rick Crom, directed by Mark Waldrop, and music directed by Ed Goldschneider, features new material weekly, with each performance covering the latest in current events, politics, entertainment, influencers, TikTok crazes, and more.

The show began as a Greenwich Village cabaret in 2002 before moving to Off-Broadway's Theatre Row, running 2004-2005. NEWSical returned to Theatre Row for two separate runs in 2009 and 2010, with the latter continuing for more than 3,000 performances before closing in 2019. The Off-Broadway return follows a 2022 Las Vegas production.
