Litzsinger, who appeared on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables and Amour, previously tackled the role of Diana – the troubled mother at the center of the contemporary musical – for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater last winter.

She is joined by Billy Clark Taylor as Dan, Mandy Leigh Thompson as Natalie, Noah Zachary as Henry and Bret Shuford (Broadway's The Little Mermaid, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Dr. Madden.

Mark Fleischer directs the production that runs through July 14 in the Charles R. Wood Theater. Next to Normal has a Tony Award-winning score by Tom Kitt (music) and Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics).

The nearly sung-through rock musical examines a woman struggling with bipolar disorder and depression, as her family strains to hold its center. It takes a candid look at prescription drug abuse, suicide, grief and the notion of what a "normal" American family really is.

Choreography is by Carlos Encinias, with musical direction by Matthew Aument. The production design team includes David Esler (set design), Matthew Miller (lighting design), Caitlin Headley (costume design) and Bryan Rothrock (sound design).
