News Nicole Kidman to Star in Rabbit Hole Film; Lindsay-Abaire Will Pen Screenplay Nicole Kidman will star in the film version of David Lindsay-Abaire's Broadway drama Rabbit Hole for Fox Searchlight, according to Variety.

Lindsay-Abaire will adapt his Tony-nominated play for Kidman, who will also produce under her production company Blossom Films. Kidman will star as Becca, the mother at the center of the story of a couple dealing with the loss of their son. Cynthia Nixon ("Sex and the City") originated the role on Broadway and Amy Ryan ("The Wire") recently played the role in Los Angeles. Nixon received a Tony Award for her performance.

Lindsay-Abaire recently penned the book for the new musical High Fidelity and is also at work on a stage adaptation of Shrek. Other plays include Fuddy Meers and Kimberly Akimbo.

Actress Kidman appeared on the Broadway stage in David Hare's The Blue Room. The actress is well-known for her film work in the movie musical "Moulin Rouge" as well as in "The Hours," "Cold Mountain," "The Others," "To Die For" and "Dead Calm," among others.
