Classic Arts Features Nina Ananiashvili to Dance Ratmansky Program Nov. 4-6 On Nov. 4, 5 and 6 Nina Ananiashvili, one of the world's greatest Prima Ballerinas, will return to perform with 13 dancers from the State Ballet of Georgia in a program that will include three ballets all choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky.

"Charms of Mannerism" music by Couperin and "Bizet Variations" music arranged by Tamar Machavariani as well as "Dreams About Japan" music by the Japanese Taiko Drum Group, Kodo with additional choreography by Alexei Fadeechev.

The performances will be accompanied by 7 members of The Orchestra of The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre and will be conducted by Mark Pekarsky.

The performances will take place on Friday, November 4th at Whitman Hall, Brooklyn Center for the Arts at 7:30pm, Saturday, November 5th at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center at 7:30, and on Sunday, November 6th at GW Lisner Auditorium in Washington D.C. at 6:30pm. These performances are to be presented by INTERNATIONAL CONCERTS.

A welcome reception will be held on November 3rd to welcome Nina Ananiashvili with a Russian and Georgian theme of food and cocktails from 6:00pm-8:30pm at the Ana Tzarev gallery 24 West 57th Street.

NINA ANANIASHVILI, is hailed universally as one of the world's greatest Prima Ballerinas. She began her career with the Bolshoi Theatre in 1981 and became one of its most acclaimed soloists. Along with Andris Liepa, she was the first Soviet dancer to appear as a guest performer with the New York City Ballet, dancing in "Raymonda Variations", "Apollo" and "Symphony in C". She also appeared with the Kirov Ballet, dancing in "Don Quixote,""Swan Lake,""Sleeping Beauty," and the premiere of Lavrovsy's "Romeo and Juliet." Ms. Ananiashvili made her debut with the American Ballet Theatre in 1993, receiving accolades of praise from press and public. In 2004 Ms. Ananiashvili was appointed as Artistic Director of the State Ballet of Georgia and has led its international tours, including a visit to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in spring of 2008. She has overhauled its repertory, with 21 new productions, largely of Western Ballets. Ms. Ananiashvili continues to perform with The State Ballet of Georgia and makes guest appearances with other companies.
