Though we haven’t yet reached Christmas, already Broadway is about as filled as it can be for the spring season. With the autumn having spawned a few solid hits (Proof, The Full Monty, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife), as well as strugglers that will likely stay put for the longish haul (Seussical, Jane Eyre), the news is not good for a half-dozen shows that hope to be occupying Broadway real estate before Tony time. Already a revival of A Thousand Clowns, starring Tom Selleck, has postponed its Broadway plans till the summer.

Other shows that have intentions of coming to Broadway — but have yet to announce a theatre — include If You Ever Leave Me, I’m Coming With You, a two hander for acting twosome Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna; the small scale Gershwin Alone (which has openly coveted the Helen Hayes - assuming Dirty Blonde leaves at some point); the Kathleen Turner solo, Tallulah; and, if a house presents itself, Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Only two theatres appear to have clear openings within the next several weeks. The Booth comes available Feb. 25 - unless Lily Tomlin keeps selling well and decides to keep searching for signs of intelligent life on Broadway a bit longer. At the Royale, Copenhagen just announced its mid-January closing date, but word has it the theatre may have already booked a spring tenant.

Here’s a look at all the Broadway theatres and their occupants over the next six months. Venues marked with an asterisk still have an apparent opening in the spring.
