News Nominators Sought For `98-99 Philadelphia Barrymore Awards Attention Philadelphia theatregoers!

Attention Philadelphia theatregoers!

Want to make your voices heard and your choices known? Now you can get your chance.

Nominators are being sought for next year's Barrymore Awards, which honor excellence in theatre in the Philadephia area. The Awards were founded in 1994 by the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia and are presented at an annual October gala.

Who makes the decisions? A 40-member, volunteer nominating committee that reviews nearly 100 productions between Sept.-June. Candidates for these positions need to provide a resume showing their theatre background, a list of shows seen over the past two years, an essay commenting on a particular production (including performance, direction and design), a statement saying why they'd want to be a nominator, and a list of current theatre affiliations.

Applicants who make the first cut will then be interviewed. Those interested should send their application, before May 15, to Christine Barbush, Barrymore Awards Nominator Search, c/o Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, P.O. Box 30443, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Good luck!
