Part of the Live from Lincoln Center series, the evening showcases the Tony-nominated star of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, Les Misérables and, most recently, The Phantom of the Opera.

TV watchers can expect to hear songs from Stop the World--I Want to Get Off, Les Miserables and Company. Song titles include “Knocks Me Off My Feet," "Lift Every Voice and Sing" and "I Got Plenty O' Nuttin’.”

In answering the question “Who Am I?,” Lewis said, "My life and work ethic comes from the business world, but I envy those who have been through conservatories, because they've had the choice to delve into character study in a way I never did. But at the same time I've heard horror stories about acting teachers at these places who've said to students, ‘You have no talent and you'll never work.’ I don't know if I could have pursued a theater career if I had been told that at a young age.”

Joining Lewis onstage are musicians Joseph Joubert, George Farmer and Perry Cavari, as well as Pastor Bobby Lewis and the 15-member gospel choir, the Bobby Lewis Ensemble. Richard Jay-Alexander directed.
