Michael Alden Productions present the world premiere of Not That Jewish, which officially opens Off-Broadway October 23; it is written and performed by Emmy-winning writer and comedian Monica Piper, whose writing credits include Roseanne and Rugrats.

With direction by Mark Waldrop, performances of Not That Jewish began October 6 at New World Stages. The show is scheduled to run through January 2017.

The show is an autobiographical telling of Piper’s life as a “Jew…’ish girl.” “From growing up in a show business family in the Bronx and taking her first step on to a comedy club stage, to a WASP wedding and an ’almost’ night with Mickey Mantle, Piper shares the milestones and moments that shaped her life,” read production notes.

The production features set design by Michael Carnahan, lighting design by Julie Duro, sound design by Ian Wehrle, and projection design by Zachary G. Borovay.
