News NY Philharmonic Season Includes Brian Stokes Mitchell, Pixar and Hitchcock Tributes The New York Philharmonic will welcome Tony Award-winning baritone Brian Stokes Mitchell for A Broadway Christmas this December.

Tony-winning Ted Sperling (The Light in the Piazza) will conduct the program that will be offered Dec. 20-21. The evening promises holiday classics and Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha; Ragtime) performing his Broadway favorites.

Additional programming includes Constantine Kitsopoulos leading Hitchcock!, celebrating music from the iconic films "Vertigo," "Strangers on a Train," "Dial M for Murder," "To Catch a Thief" and "North by Northwest. " It will represent the work of composers such as Bernard Herrmann, Lyn Murray and Dmitri Tiomkin. It will be offered Sept. 17-18.

Also planned is Pixar in Concert, presented May 1-3, 2014. It will feature music by Randy Newman, Michael Giacchino, Thomas Newman, and Patrick Doyle from the company's 13 films, ranging from "Toy Story" to "Brave."
