Not only are they newlyweds, Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn may soon be creative partners. According to a story in the NY Post (Dec. 31), Allen is penning an Off-Broadway play -- to feature his 27-year-old bride, who apparently has been taking acting lessons since October.

The Post quotes producer Julian Schlossberg (Death Defying Acts, which included an Allen one-act) as saying, "I don't know wheter [Previn] can act or not, but she speaks beautifully. And if [Allen] can write parts in his movies for Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow, he can certainly write something for his wife." Schlossberg allegedly said he plans to talk to the writer/director/actor when he and Previn return from their honeymoon.

Reached Dec. 31, associate producer Michael Winter told Playbill On-Line Schlossberg's comments were taken out of context, that he knows of no such plans by Allen, nor does Schlossberg -- a big Allen fan -- have any plans to produce a new play by the 62-year-old legend.

Allen began his career as a stand-up comedian and is best known as a filmmaker (Annie Hall, Hannah And Her Sisters, Deconstructing Harry), though his plays include Don't Drink The Water, sPlay It Again Sam, Death Knocks and The Floating Lightbulb.

Schlossberg's hands are currently full with a new Elaine May comedy, Power Plays, going into rehearsal Jan. 26 for an Off-Broadway mounting in April. -- By David Lefkowitz
