News NYC Readings Feature Jessica Hecht, Julie Harris, Cherry Jones, Nov. 23-29 The last Jack's Art Nights of 1999 will feature some strong casting, placing Stop Kiss's Jessica Hecht in the 1999 New Dramatist Whitfield Cook Award winning play, Acapulco, Nov. 23, and both Julie Harris and Cherry Jones in a reading of Peter Dee's Amber Patches Nov. 24.

The last Jack's Art Nights of 1999 will feature some strong casting, placing Stop Kiss's Jessica Hecht in the 1999 New Dramatist Whitfield Cook Award winning play, Acapulco, Nov. 23, and both Julie Harris and Cherry Jones in a reading of Peter Dee's Amber Patches Nov. 24.

Evan Yionoulis (Three Days of Rain) directs Jacquelyn Reingold's Acapulco. Joining Hecht will be Harold Perrineau, Lynn Cohen, Fiona Gallagher (Gretta Good Time), Ned Eisenberg and Peter Jacobson.

Nov. 23, Tony winner Cherry Jones (The Heiress, the upcoming Moon for the Misbegotten) and theatre legend Julie Harris will lead the cast of Amber Patches, Peter Dee's comedy about death and dying. Dee passed away earlier in November and the play will be read in memory of him. Victor Slezak and Gallagher will also participate. Susann Brinkley directs.

The final reading of 1999, on Nov. 29, will be Kaddish, the previously unproduced dramatic version of Allen Ginsberg's famous poem. Joseph Chaiken directs a cast that features Laura Esterman (Marvin's Room, The Cranes) and Daniel Eric Gold (Beautiful Thing).

Jack's Art Nights are devoted to new works for the theatre and generally take place on Monday nights. Admission is free and all readings begin at 8 PM. The West Bank Cafe can be reached by calling (212) 695-6909. The restaurant and bar is located at 407 West 42nd Street.
