Produced by Josef Reiter, this event is made possible by the support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Admission is free. Doors are open 10 AM-6 PM.
The exhibiting artisans are a diverse group of theatre professionals made up of actors, singers, dancers, musicians, stage managers, and wardrobe personnel.
"Not only do they act, sing, dance, play instruments, direct and choreograph, but in their spare time, they paint, photograph, sculpt, make clothing, purses and jewelry, and the list goes on and on," according to the announcement.
Visitors can expect more than 40 exhibitors.
ActorCrafts started a few years back when Reiter — an actor, director and budding producer who is also a photographer — was seeking an outlet for his own work. "Since I know so many theatre folk who make such wonderful crafts and artwork, wouldn't it be great if we could all come together and have some sort of show spotlighting our other talents" he said.
"This is the largest number of artists we have had so far with a greater variety of crafts," Reiter told Playbill.com. "We have included some antiques into this fair as well as some theatre memorabilia and yummy baked goods. I feel it's a better time of year to hold the event — and a great way to start your holiday shopping. Each time we do this event, I am always so impressed at the talent, creativity and quality of work on display."
