There were plenty of "squares" paying tribute to Broadway on Oct. 16, as the cast and crew of the "Hollywood Squares" wrapped up a three-day taping schedule at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. Since Oct. 14, "Hollywood Squares" has taped 15 segments of the popular show, with the final five segments taped on Oct. 16 being devoted to a Broadway theme. The producers of the "Hollywood Squares" have also donated $50,000 from the show's revenues to benefit the Actors' Fund. The show is co-produced by King World Productions, Inc. and Columbia Tri-Star Television is association with Moffitt-Lee Productions. Chris Darley directs.
Appearing throughout the five shows in the "Tribute to Broadway" week will be such stars as "Hollywood Squares'" center square Whoopi Goldberg, Nathan Lane, Bebe Neuwirth, Rosie O'Donnell, Bruce Vilanch, Vanessa L. Williams, Linda Lavin, Michelle Lee, Tony Roberts, Lea Thompson, John Ritter, David Hasselhoff and Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell.
