News NYMF's Like You Like It to Play Brooklyn's Gallery Players Like You Like It, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's As You Like It that played the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2004, will be seen at the Gallery Players next month.

Directed by Igor Goldin with musical direction by Jeffrey Campos, the musical will play the Brooklyn venue Oct. 18-Nov. 2.

The cast comprises Jeff Barba, Lena Moy-Bergen, Jennifer Blood, Trey Compton, Richard Connelly, Brynn Curry, Rebecca Dealy, Roy Flores, Nathan Johnson, André Jordan, Caitlyn Kent, Michael Lowney, Alison Luff, Clint Morris, Elisabeth Ness, Lance Olds, Hollis Scarborough and Carly Vernon.

Like You Like It was penned by Sammy Buck (book and lyrics) and Daniel S. Acquisto (music). The musical, according to press notes, is "set in 1985, and the brand new Arden Mall is hosting a high school dance. Bookworm babe Rosalind wants to go with varsity wrestler Orlando, but she's never had the guts to talk to him. Rosalind disguises herself as a frat dude named Corey and learns Orlando's true feelings for her. But things get tricky when 'Corey' complicates the lives of three other couples at Arden. Rosalind will do anything to get Orlando, even if it means showing up at the dance as both herself and Corey."

The creative team also includes choreographer Keith Andrews, set designer Carl Tallent, costume designer Hunter Kaczorowski and lighting designer Dan Jobbins. The production stage manager is Kayla Shriner-Cahn. Heather Siobhan Curran produces with associate producer Marissa Rosenblum.

Like You Like It was most recently produced at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, TX, in collaboration with Sam Houston State University. Show times are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
