Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan is the place to be, Sept. 9, 11 and 16, to hear a lunchtime revue of songs by lyricist Alan Jay Lerner.
Sponsored by the Johnny Mercer Foundation and produced by the Bryant Park Restoration Corporation, the free concert features tunes from Gigi, My Fair Lady, Brigadoon, Camelot and other Lerner works. Gerry Dieffenbach will serve as musical director; Jack Wrangler will direct -- his first assignment since authoring the Johnny Mercer revue on Broadway, Dream.
Starring in the show are cabaret singer Gerry Dieffenbach, George Merritt (Off-Broadway's The Petrified Prince), and Forbidden Broadway cast members Christine Pedi and Donna English. English also appeared Off-Broadway in Ruthless.
Ross Patterson, Bob Cross and Rex Benincasa comprise the three-piece backing trio.
