The Present Company, producers of the FringeNYC, will present the world premiere of Texas Radio by C.J. Hopkins, February 19-March 8.

Following the success of last years’ American Absurdum at 1997’s FringeNYC, Present Company continues to explore American culture with Hopkins’ play. A charismatic leader on a fishing expedition, a mysterious murder, a diabolical cable repair call, and a visit from double-speak strangers all figure into the action of Texas Radio, where the doors of perception are opened, but into what hallway?

This is Hopkin's first collaboration with Present Company. Hopkins’ formed his own Monkey Wrench Theatre in 1994 with director Julia Lee Barclay, to provide a forum apart from the commercial marketplace for professional theatre artists to develop new strategies for the dramatic stage. The company produces at different venues throughout NYC.

Texas Radio will be directed by John Clancy, Artistic Director of The Present Company and winner of a 1997 New York Magazine Award for co-founding the First Annual New York Fringe Festival.
