NYTW Transforms for The Object Lesson | Playbill

News NYTW Transforms for The Object Lesson Geoff Sobelle’s theatrical installation is turning the downtown theatre into a giant storage facility beginning January 31.

Beginning January 31, New York Theatre Workshop is transformed into a giant storage facility for The Object Lesson, Geoff Sobelle’s theatrical installation directed by David Neumann with scenic installation by Steven Dufala. The downtown theatre invites audiences to roam and sift through the clutter, prompting reflections about the objects we choose to cling to.

The Object Lesson will officially open February 9 for a limited engagement scheduled through March 5 at NYTW. The show lasts for approximately 90 minutes.

“Sobelle transforms this makeshift attic into a space of reflection and wonder as he unpacks our relationship to everyday objects: breaking, buying, finding, fixing, giving, losing, winning, trading, selling, stealing, storing, collecting, cluttering, clearing, packing up, passing on, buried under… a world of things,“ read NYTW production notes.

New York Theatre Workshop is located at 79 East 4th Street, New York. For tickets and more information visit NYTW.org.
