News Obie Winner Ty Jones Debuts Own Play Emancipation, Nov. 23 Ty Jones, who won an Obie Award for the recent Off-Broadway staging of Jean Genet's The Blacks and is currently appearing in Henry IV at Lincoln Center Theatre, will don another hat—playwright—on Nov. 23 when he presents a stage reading of his play, Emancipation.

The event will take place at 7:30 PM at Aaron Davis Hall (located at City College of NY, Convent Ave. between 133rd and 135th Streets). The play is about Nat Turner, the man who in 1831 led the largest slave rebellion in U.S. history. The cast includes Jones, Lance Reddick, fellow Obie winner J. Kyle Manzay, Stevie Ray Dallimore, Lucas Caleb Rooney, Portia, Silverio Avellino, Carl Cofield, Charles Parnell, Kat Foster, Kate Forbes, Howard Overshown, Joe Siravo, Tiffany Jones and others.
