Off-Broadway's New Voices Theatre Ensemble examines modern parenting ideals in the world premiere of Robert Clyman's When The Bough Breaks. The show began Sept. 3 for an opening Sept. 10 and a run through Sept. 27.

In Bough, Doug and Susan Harris, two yuppie parents, must re evaluate their lives when their son is born brain damaged and three months premature.

James Knopf directs Bough. Featured in the cast are Chris Clavelli, Tamara Scott, Lucy Avery Brooke, Jerry Rockwood, Jane Ross, Vincent Sagona, Shelagh Ratner, and Christine Siracusa.

Designers include Carlos Doria (set), John Lassiter (lighting), Paul Haber (costume), and David Pinkard (sound and music).

Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 PM with a Sunday performance at 7 PM. Tickets are $12 and can be reserved by calling (212) 539-4525. Synchronicity Space is located at 55 Mercer St between Broome and Grand. -- By Christine Ehren
