The Los Angeles sell-out hit, Jewtopia, has extended its run once again through June 27 in California. Producers are in final talks to bring the work to Off-Broadway this summer.

Frank Yablans and WEJ Productions present the world premiere production of Jewtopia, written by and starring Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson. It opened May 8, 2003. Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness) directs the work at the Coast Playhouse in West Hollywood.

Jewtopia follows the story of two single guys — a Jew and a Gentile — on the verge of turning 30 who are obsessed with dating women of the other's religion. The two devise a plan to help both their causes by teaching one another their cultures.

The show, which will celebrate its one-year anniversary in Los Angeles has announced that Jewtopia is "now in final negotiations to open Off-Broadway this summer in New York," according to a release. Fogel told The New York Times the Off-Broadway producing team is waiting on availability for several venues.

The cast includes writers Fogel and Wolfson along with Cheryl David, Alan Charof, Lorry Goldman, Linda Shing, Jackie Tohn and Jenni Pulos.

The design team of Jewtopia includes Desma Murphy (set), Rand Ryan (lighting), Ann Closs-Farley (costume) and John Zalewski (sound). Tickets to Jewtopia at the Coast Playhouse, 8325 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA, can be purchased by calling (877) TIX-4JEW (849-4539). For more information, visit
