Lincoln Center Theater has added a new play by J.T. Rogers to its 2023–24 season. Corruption will begin previews February 15, 2024 at LCT's Off-Broadway space, the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Opening night is set for March 11.

Tony winner Bartlett Sher will direct the new work about a 2011 phone-hacking scandal in the British news media. Based on the book Dial M for Murdoch: News Corporation and The Corruption of Britain by Tom Watson and Martin Hickman, the play tells the true story of Parliament member Tom Watson fighting back against Murdoch’s News International after a smear campaign. In the process, he uncovers the criminal practices of the media giant.

Rogers is a Tony winner for his 2017 play Oslo, which was also directed by Sher and staged by Lincoln Center Theater. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his HBO film adaptation of Oslo, and is the creator, writer, and showrunner for Tokyo Vice currently streaming on Max.

Corruption will feature sets by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Jennifer Moeller, lighting by Donald Holder, sound by Justin Ellington, and projections by 59 Productions/Benjamin Pearcy and Brad Peterson. Theresa Flanagan will serve as stage manager.
