The revival of John Patrick Shanley's play will star Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott.

Off-Broadway's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea will offer a limited number of $20 lottery tickets each week. The revival of John Patrick Shanley's play starring Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott will run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from October 30–January 3, 2024.

The play follows Danny and Roberta, two desperate people in the Bronx that have a chance meeting in a dive bar. What follows is an encounter "so dangerous and so beautiful" that it "redefines the meaning of love." Abbott and Plaza play Danny and Roberta, respectively.

Jeff Ward will make his stage directorial debut with the production, which will feature movement by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, scenic design by Scott Pask, lighting design by John Torres, costume design by Arianne Phillips, and sound design by Kate Marvin.

The weekly ticket lottery, offered by TodayTix, will open each Sunday on the TodayTix mobile app at 12:01 AM for the coming week's performances and will close at noon on the day before each performance. Winners will be notified between 1-4 PM on the day before their selected show and will have 30 minutes to purchase up to two tickets in the app.

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea is produced by Sam Rockwell and Mark Berger’s Play Hooky Productions, Seaview, Sue Wagner, and John Johnson by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The play originally premiered Off-Broadway in 1984 at Circle in the Square Theatre Downtown.
