News Off-Broadway's Masked Eyes West Coast Run Ilan Hatsor's critically acclaimed drama Masked will receive a West Coast industry reading March 10.

Producers of the now-shuttered Off-Broadway production hope to stage a commercial West Coast run, with film rights to the work also on the table.

Masked began performances at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre July 20, 2007, and officially opened Aug. 2, earning mostly positive reviews. The production concluded its New York run Dec. 30, 2007.

Set for the March 10 industry presentation are Sam Golzari ("American Dreamz"), Sam Younis ("24") and Elijah Alexander ("Summerland"). Masked will be directed by Matt August.

The award-winning play about three Palestinian brothers "tackles the cultural divide at the heart of the Middle East conflict. Masked depicts the tragedy of one family torn between obligations, kinship, principles and survival. It is the first play by an Israeli playwright about the Intifada (Palestinian uprising)," production notes stated.

Ilan Hatsor's play has been produced continuously across Israel and in over 100 productions worldwide. The Off-Broadway production starred Sanjit DeSilva, Daoud Heidami and Arian Moayed. Born and raised in Israel, Ilan Hatsor is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University Theatre Department, where he teaches acting and dramatic writing. His play Masked has won various prizes, including the Best Play Prize at the Akko Theatre Festival. Other plays by Hatsor include Hey-Rimona, State Controller, Jako, The White Heart, Sacred Task, Poker, The Interrogation, Small Talk and War Over the House.

The 3 PM industry reading will take place at the Ivy Substation Theater, located at 9070 Venice Blvd., Culver City, CA.
