John Patrick Shanley’s The Portuguese Kid is extending for the second time Off-Broadway due to popular demand. The production stars Seinfeld star Jason Alexander and three-time Tony nominee Sherie Rene Scott, and will now play through December 10.
The world premiere from Manhattan Theatre Club, originally scheduled to close November 26, opened Off-Broadway October 24.
Directed by Shanley, The Portuguese Kid tells the story of two mismatched couples living in Providence as they navigate love, death, childhood fears, and one very domineering mother.
Rounding out the cast are Drama Desk winner Mary Testa, Pico Alexander, and Aimee Carrero.
