O'Hurley will play King Arthur in the musical, which will officially open March 31. No other casting has been announced.

Spamalot, which features direction by Mike Nichols, is "lovingly ripped-off" from the screenplay of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." The musical features a book by Eric Idle based on the screenplay he co-wrote with Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The new score — with music and lyrics by Idle and composer John Du Prez ("A Fish Called Wanda") — includes songs ("Brave Sir Robin" and "Knights of the Round Table") from the original film as well as the Python signature "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

The musical, according to press notes, tells the "the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail [and] features a chorus line of dancing divas (and serfs), flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits and a legless knight."

John O'Hurley, who made his Broadway debut in Chicago, has been seen on screen in "The Mullets," "Buying the Cow," "Teddy Bears' Picnic," "Race to Space," "Firetrap," "Slammed," "Cursed," "Love Stinks," "Three Secrets," "Wild Grizzly," "Tempting Fate," "Blood on Her Hands," "Lost on Earth," "Over the Top," "Murder Live!," "The Secret," "My Son Is Innocent," "The Power Within," "A Whole New Ballgame," "Valley of the Dolls," "General Hospital," "Mirror Images," "Scorch," "Santa Barbara," "The Young and the Restless," "Billy the Kid," "Something Is Out There," "Loving," "The Edge of Night" and "Seinfeld.”

Tickets are priced $49, $69, $89 and $99. Preview performances will have tickets discounted at 25 percent. Tickets for the Vegas production will go on sale Jan. 16 by calling (888) 320-7110 or (702) 770-WYNN. For more information visit www.montypythonsspamalot.com or www.wynnlasvegas.com.
