Film & TV News Oklahoma!'s Sasha Hutchings Will Join Okieriete Onaodowan in AMC Sci-Fi Comedy Demascus

The six-episode, 30-minute series is from writer Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm.

Stage and screen performer Sasha Hutchings has joined the cast of AMC's upcoming sci-fi comedy Demascus, according to Variety. She will star in a recurring role opposite her Hamilton co-star Okieriete Onaodowan

From Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, best known for his plays Black Dick and Hooded: Or Being Black for Dummies, the series follows a 33-year-old Black man, Demascus (Onaodowan), and his journey of self-discovery through digital psychiatry that guides him through different versions of his own life. Hutchings will play his techy girlfriend Budhi Bank.

The six-episode 30-minute series is also set to star Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt, and Shakira Ja’nai Paye.

Hutchings currently stars as Laurey Williams in the Oklahoma! national tour, after appearing as an understudy and a replacement in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. Additional stage credits include the original Broadway cast of Hamilton, plus My Fair Lady, Motown the Musical, and Memphis. Hutchings' screen credits include SmashFosse/VerdonThe Bold Type, Master of None, and Jessica Jones.

The show is executive-produced by Mark Johnson’s Gran Via Productions (Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad) with Kirk Moore (American Crime) as the showrunner and Myki Bajaj of Gran Via producing.
