In this year's annual celebration of architecture, 550 buildings will be participating covering all periods of English architecture, including a particular reference to contemporary architecture.

The ninth annual "London Open House" event, providing public access free of charge to buildings across the capital, will take place over the weekend of Sept. 22-23. In this year's annual celebration of architecture, 550 buildings will be participating covering all periods of English architecture, including a particular reference to contemporary architecture. London Open House 2001 is London's independent contribution to the European Heritage Days initiative, a European-wide programme of architectural celebration promoted by the Council of Europe, which this year takes place in 46 countries across Europe throughout the month of September.
