News Old Vic's The Crucible to Be Screened in U.K. Cinemas and Worldwide The Old Vic production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible, which had a sell-out run June 21-Sept. 13, is to be screened in 350 cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland Dec. 4 and 7 only, with further worldwide screenings to follow.

Directed by Yaël Farber and starring Richard Armitage as John Proctor, the production was captured live in High Definition by the producers of DigitalTheatre.com, and will be distributed by CinemaLive. In a press statement, John Richardson, producer for the Old Vic, stated, "Yaël Farber's mesmerising five star production of The Crucible is one of the most successful and most acclaimed in The Old Vic's history. We are excited to finally be sharing one of the theatrical events of a decade with audiences across the country, thanks to our friends at DigitalTheatre.com and CinemaLive. Arthur Miller's chilling, powerful and legendary work is truly a play for our times."

Armitage is joined by a cast that comprises Harry Attwell, Samantha Colley, Marama Corlett, Jack Ellis, Ann Firbank, William Gaunt, Natalie Gavin, Christopher Godwin, Hannah Hutch, Lauren Lyle, Anna Madeley, Paddy Navin, Sarah Niles, Tom Peters, Rebecca Saire, Neil Salvage, Adrian Schiller, Michael Thomas, Alan Vicary, Daisy Waterstone, Matt Weyland and Zara White.
