The David Hare play Amy's View, which closed at the National Theatre in November, reopens Jan. 17 at the Aldwych Theatre on London's West End, just two days after being nominated for several Olivier Awards, including Best Play and Best Actress (Dame Judi Dench). The play, which had its premiere in June 1997 and played to SRO crowds at RNT's Lyttelton Theatre throughout the summer, stars Dame Judi Dench as Esme Allen, a stage actress whose career goes in and out of favor with the passing years.

Amy's View was directed by Richard Eyre, former artistic director of RNT (who handed the reins to Trevor Nunn on Oct. 1). The cast also includes Eoin McCarthy, Samantha Bond, Joyce Redmann, Ronald Pickup, and Christopher Staines.

There has been talk of Amy's View coming to Broadway this season, but at this time there are no firm plans for a New York run.
