News Once Around the Sun Star Somers to Sing at Shea Stadium Sept. 20 Asa Somers, who stars in the new Off-Broadway musical Once Around the Sun, will perform the National Anthem Sept. 20 at Shea Stadium.

Somers' performance will precede the baseball game between the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins. Time Warner Cable in Manhattan will broadcast the game on Channel 27 at 7 PM ET and Channel 445 MLB5 at 7:10 PM. Rebroadcasts are scheduled for 11 PM and 1 AM, also on Channel 27. Once Around the Sun features a score by Robert Morris, Steven Morris and Joe Shane and a book by Kellie Overbey. The cast — directed by Jace Alexander — also includes Maya Days, Caren Lyn Manuel, Kevin Mambo, John Hickok, Jesse Lenat and Wes Little. The production was recently extended and will play the Zipper through Oct. 16. A Broadway production is also in the works.

The Zipper Theatre is located in Manhattan at 336 West 37th Street. The Once Around the Sun performance schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 3 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 and 7 PM. Tickets, priced at $60, are available by calling (212) 239 6200.
