News Once-Canceled Animated Comedy Hits LA and NY Stages as Family Guy Live! in April Seth MacFarlane's animated comedy "Family Guy" — which will be "uncancelled" on FOX this May after gaining a cult following in syndication — is also heading with full cast to the stage in Los Angeles and New York in April.

Just for Laughs — the group behind the eponymous annual comedy festival in Montreal — will present Family Guy Live! at Los Angeles' Wiltern LG for two performances April 15 and at New York's Town Hall for four performances April 29-30.

Family Guy Live! will feature "a live reading of a classic episode, a live performance from the eagerly anticipated 'Family Guy Live in Vegas' comedy album, a sneak peek at the first new 'Family Guy' episode produced in more than three years, and a Q&A with the cast/ creators of the series," according to a release.

The animated "Family Guy" follows the twisted and irreverent lives of the middle-class New England Griffin family. Creator/executive producer Seth MacFarlane voices the portly patriarch Peter, the ever-conniving 1-year-old baby Stewie and the brainy yet boozy dog Brian. Alex Borstein plays the wife and mother Lois of the teenaged children Meg ("That 70's Show" teen and "Tony 'N Tina's Wedding" bride Mila Kunis) and Chris ("Austin Powers" angsty Scott Evil Seth Green).

The Emmy Award-nominated animated series will make its return to prime time television May 1 as FOX has ordered a new season of the cult hit. The show debuted on the broadcast network in 1999 and was canceled by the network in its third season. When the show's diehard fans brought in record DVD sales and continued high Nielsen ratings for its Cartoon Network airings, the show was picked back up.

MacFarlane won an Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for his portrayal of Stewie in 2000 and for Outstanding Music and Lyrics in 2002 with composer Walter Murphy. The show itself was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program in 2000. Mike Henry (who voices several characters) will also perform. Writers Ricky Blitt and Steve Callaghan with Executive Producer David Goodman will also take part in the talkback session.

Family Guy Live! is set to play at Wiltern LG, 3790 Wilshire Blvd. In Los Angeles, CA and Town Hall, 123 West 43rd Street in New York, NY. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (213) 480-3232 or (714) 740-2000 for Los Angeles shows and (212) 307-4100 for New York shows or at the respective box offices.
