News Once Will Welcome Original Academy Award-Winning Songwriter and Star The Tony Award-winning musical Once will welcome the show's composer and star of the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, Markéta Irglová, for a special musical performance following the 7 PM performance Oct. 2.

Once is based on the 2007 film and plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street). The production opened to critical acclaim March 18, 2012, and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, as well as the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

The musical features a book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh, the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Irglová, direction by John Tiffany, movement by Steven Hoggett and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe.

The current cast on Broadway features Paul Alexander Nolan as Guy and Jessie Fisher as Girl with Laurel Griggs, David Patrick Kelly, Sophie Knapp, Katrina Lenk, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Scott Stangland, Andy Taylor, Ryan Vona, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty and J. Michael Zygo.

Once is now playing in London's West End at the Phoenix Theatre, where it opened April 9, 2013, after premiering to critical acclaim in Dublin in February 2013. Once is also playing to in cities around the country on a U.S. national tour, which was launched by The Road Company in fall 2013. Once will also open in Australia and Toronto.
