News One-Man Show Cat Will Bring "High Kicks and Swearing" to Northern Ireland Cat, a one-man show about a former member of the Cats cast who was fired opening night, will play the Courtyard Theatre in Northern Ireland following its sold-out run at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Starring Gerard McCarthy, the production, which was written by Jamie Beamish and Richard Hardwick, will begin performances Feb. 23 and will continue through Feb. 28.

"Dave was in the original cast of Cats. On opening night he was sacked. He was not a happy pussy," press notes state. "This brand new comedy about the greatest musical theatre star that never got to shine finally makes it to The Courtyard Theatre. Starring Gerard McCarthy, Cat isn’t so much a love letter to musical theatre... more a death threat!"

McCarthy has appeared in the TV series "The Fall," "Titanic: Blood and Steel" and "Hollyoaks," among others. His stage work includes The Merry Wives of Windsor and Blue/Orange.

Cat will feature choreography by Arlene Phillips.
