The Dark Kalamazoo, a one-person show written by and starring Oni Faida Lampley, is the latest show proffered by Off-Broadway's Drama Dept.

Tom Prewitt will direct the work, which began previews at the Greenwich House Theatre Sept. 17 for a Sept. 25 opening.

The Dark Kalamazoo is autobiographical and tells of Lampley's first trip overseas at the age of 19—to Africa, no less. Not surprisingly, she doesn't find what she expects to find in "The Motherland." The work has been seen regionally, by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, DC.

The show features original music composed and performed by Kevin Campbell and design by Allen Moyer (sets), Gregory A. Gale (costumes) and Heather Carson (lights).

Tickets are $35. Call (212) 633-9632. Recent Drama Dept. shows have included Free to Be...You and Me, Rude Entertainment, The Book of Liz and Music from a Sparkling Planet.
