On Nov. 10, The Inverse Theater Company will present a benefit performance of The Death of Griffin Hunter, the latest play by Off- Off-Broadway's favorite (did someone say "only"?) verse dramatist, Kirk Wood Bromley. The production officially opened Oct. 30 for a run through Nov. 22 at Soho Rep (46 Walker St.).

Tickets are $30 for the 7 PM benefit performance. Call (212) 874-4049.

Bromley's tragedy concerns the title character, a newly-appointed UN under-secretary for disarmament. He has arrived in San Francisco for a conference and the opening night of a play starring his wife, but he finds little chance for diplomacy in a mad world of international moguls, hackers and college pals.

Griffin Hunter stars Matthew Maher, who starred this past summer in P.S. 122's The Race of the Ark Tattoo. Also in the cast, under Emma Griffin's direction, are Joshua Spafford, Al Benditt and Jeni Henaghan.

Bromley had previously penned such ambitious, sprawling works as Want's Unwished Work and Icarus and Aria. Call (212) 501-4528 for tickets or check out Inverse's website at: http://www.inversetheater.com.
