Past and present collide in Birdseed Bundles, as three generations of a family converge in a Vermont hotel room the night before a wedding. The tragicomedy, by Ain Gordon -- author of the OBIE-winning Wally's Ghost -- received a workshop staging back in June 1997 at NYC's Soho Repertory and now gets a full Off-Off-Broadway mounting, March 9-April 2, at the Bessie Schonberg Theatre of Dance Theatre Workshop (DTW).

The 1997 workshop was staged by the author and Michael Sexton, who went on to helm the recent Trudy Blue Off-Broadway. Sexton is the sole director on the DTW mounting, which features Lola Pashalinski, Ken Marks and Valda Setterfield, all three with the project from the start. Also in the OOB cast are Tanny McDonald, Mara Stephens, Quentin Mare and Babo Harrison (The Batting Cage).

Setterfield, who starred in David Gordon's The Mysteries and What's So Funny?, is Ain's mother and David's husband. The trio formed the "Pick Up Performance Company" as the production organization for their various projects, including The Last Picture Show (fka "Who's Anne First?).

Designing Birdseed Bundles are Mark Wendland (sets) and Philip Sandstrom (lighting).
