Classic Arts News Opera Boston Announces 2005-06 Season Opera Boston will perform Menotti's The Consul, Chabrier's L'ê_toile, and Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia in 2005-06, the Boston Globe reports.
The company, which performs at the Cutler Majestic Theatre, will present each production three times, one more performance per opera than the current season.

The Consul will star Boston-based soprano Joanna Porackova in the role of Magda Sorel. She performed the same role recently at the Washington National Opera. Lucrezia Borgia will feature Barbara Quintiliani, also locally based, who sang Luisa Miller with the company last season.

L'ê_toile, a once-obscure operetta that is enjoying a wave of popularity, will be presented in an original production directed by Scott Edminston. The cast includes soprano Heather Buck.
