Contemporary American Theater Festival, committed to presenting new and recent works in the quaint college town of Shepherdstown, WV, has the world premieres of Silence of God by Catherine Filloux and Orange Flower Water by Craig Wright on its summer 2002 slate.

Both Wright and Filloux have been represented at the professional Equity affiliated CATF before. Wright's The Pavilion was staged there and has found success throughout the country, and Filloux's Mary and Myra, about Mary Todd Lincoln was stage in 2000.

CATF producing director will helm Sam Shepard's The Late Henry Moss and Lee Blessing's Thief River, both previously seen in New York and elsewhere.

Jean Randich directs Silence of God, about a journalist, Sarah Holtzman, who lands an interview with Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot. "What she discovers the day she meets him raises more questions than it provides answers," according to the season announcement. "For Sarah, lines blur between writing about and experiencing a world that is more complicated than she ever imagined."

Leah Gardiner directs Orange Flower Water, "a blisteringly honest tale of love and betrayal" set in the small town of Pine City, MN. It tells of David and Beth's extramarital affair and how people can hurt other people "and love keeps happening." The summer season, July 12-Aug. 4, will include two staged readings, a lecture series and two concerts.
