The return engagement of Lisa Lampanelli’s new comedy Stuffed has found its complete cast. Joining Lampanelli and the previously announced Nikki Blonsky in the Off-Broadway production at the Westside Theatre will be Orange is the New Black co-stars Marsha Stephanie Blake and Eden Malyn.
Blake recently appeared in NYTW’s acclaimed production of Othello, and Malyn is also known for her role in House of Lies.
Following a world-premiere engagement with WP Theater last fall, Stuffed will kick off its return engagement at the Westside Theatre October 5 with direction by Jackson Gay. The play, which explores the complexity of women’s relationships to food and body image, has been reworked since its debut production.
Stuffed will officially open October 19.
“I am beyond thrilled to have these amazing and talented women joining Stuffed," said Lampanelli in a statement. “It is so important to me to show how complicated relationships with food and body image impact all kinds of people, and I am honored to have Marsha Stephanie and Eden alongside me and Nikki to share the humor and the heartbreak in these stories.”
The play’s characters are a bulimic, a compulsive eater, a confident overweight woman, and a chronically thin one.
