Classic Arts News Orchestre National de France Will Keep Masur Through 2008 Kurt Masur will remain the music director of the Orchestre National de France through 2008, the web site Musical America reports.
The conductor signed on with the orchestra in 2002, and now, according to Jean-Paul Cluzel, general director of Radio France, he will stay on for an additional three years.

Masur is also the principal conductor for the London Philharmonic, the president of the Mendelssohn Foundation, and president of the Beethoven House in Bonn. He was music director of the New York Philharmonic for 11 years, and before that the music director of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
