On June 9, in a benefit for the Cascade AIDS Project, the Oregon Touring company of Beauty And The Beast will give a special performance -- not of B&B, but a concert reading of William Finn's musical, Falsettos. The staging will take place at the cabaret-style Panorama, 341 SW 10th St., in downtown Portland. Tickets are only $15 and available by calling either (503) 224-4400 or (503) 226-4171. A silent auction at 7 PM precedes the 7:30 PM show.

Falsettos tells of an extended family: a husband and father who leaves his family to live with his gay lover. AIDS eventually enters the picture, as does the son's Bar Mitzvah, the wife's new love interest, and "the lesbians from next door."
