News Original Cast of York Theatre Company's Closer Than Ever Will Reunite for Barnes & Noble Performance/CD Signing The original cast of the York Theatre Company's 2012 revival of the musical revue Closer Than Ever, with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, will reunite Sept. 20 at the East Side Barnes & Noble to celebrate the release of the show's new cast recording on the Jay Record label.

Cast members Jenn Colella, George Dvorsky, Christiane Noll and Sal Viviano will be joined by music director Andrew Gerle and composer Shire at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues) beginning at 5 PM. The cast will offer selections from the production and will also be on hand to autograph the new CD.

Priority seating will be available with purchase. This is a wristbanded event, which will be available at the store starting at 9 AM on the day of the event.

Closer Than Ever opened in June 2012 at The York Theatre Company. It is described as an "intimate musical about love, friendship, security, happiness – and holding onto those essentials in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once.

With direction by Maltby, associate direction and choreography by Kurt Stamm and music direction by Gerle, the creative team included James Morgan (sets), Nicole Wee (costumes) and Kirk Bookman (lights).
